Course Content:

The course is going to take place in groups of 3 to 5 people or as an individual course at my workshop at Gasometer.
You don’t need previous knowledge. You will be guided with a lot of fun, structure and craftsmanship.

Course times and procedure:

The course will take place on three days in a row and lasts about 16 hours.

Thursday     14.30 - 19.30 > 5 hours
Friday     14.30 - 19.30 > 5 hours
Samstag     10.00 - 16.00 > 6 hours

On Thursday you get the different parts of your instrument and get to know a lot about the history of your model. You will design the headstock, prepare the surfaces and oil the body of your guitar with colored oil. There are a few templates and suggestions.

On Friday we will finish off the surfaces of the guitar and oil the neck and body. After that, we will begin to assemble the circuitry. Additionally, we will talk a lot about building a guitar, guitars and tonewoods and for example drink a good coffee.

On Saturday we will solder and install the circuitry, assemble the Hardware, put the guitar together and make a professional set-Up: Stringing the guitar without it going out of tune later, fine-tuning the nut slots, optimizing the action and playability, and ensuring intonation.
Finished!
Now you have built your own, unique instrument and learnt some professional knowledge about guitars.

Range of Services

The price includes the participation in the workshop, the different parts of the guitar, the use of a workplace and the tools and materials you need for the production of your guitar. Coffee and beverages are also available. If you decide to build a Strat-style guitar, I am offering a following course to learn the setting to a floating-tremolo-setting.
