... or: about myself
In 2004, I wanted to buy my first “5-string (bass)” to revive my former blues-band. What
happened? The money for the instrument I wanted was non-existent, and I couldn’t just
scale down my expectations. Therefore, I decided to build my very own bass, recall every
experience that could help me with the new task and started to plan the instrument. You
can probably imagine that my degree in wood engineering came in handy. Good planning
and preparations, craftsmanship – and just like that I was right in the thick of it!
My education “modern bass” at the American Institute of Music (Vienna) showed me, how
to make music on a high level, what the technical requirements for a well-adjusted
instrument are, and the necessities for a (amazing) performance. Additionally, the study of
music (first phase) taught theoretical knowledge about the construction of instruments
and music history.
2010 opening Wurmsergasse in the 15th district
In the end of 2009, I seized the opportunity to rent a store with a small workshop in Vienna
(15th district). It was very convenient that there was a carpenter’s workshop at the other
side of the street that I was allowed to use as well. It was the perfect place to start my
business.
December 2012 change of location to Music City Gasometer
During the springtime in 2012, I was invited to move my shop to Music City Gasometer (11th
district). I decided very quickly to dare this next step. (I decided to do take this next step).
To compensate the missing workshop, I set one up in Maria Enzersdorf where I would build
the guitars myself. At the Gasometer is the front office and I undertake a small mending,
services, Set-Ups and modifications. The guitar-building-workshops for my customers are
also taking place there.
